The idea of Briar Common started more than 20 years ago when we began to enjoy a new style of beer sweeping the Northwest: The American IPA. After years of brewing small batches literally continents apart, we decided to make Briar Common a reality in 2013. Three years and a few dollars later, we opened Briar Common Brewery + Eatery in October of 2016 with the goal of offering balanced and drinkable beers, complimented by creative gastropub food. We hope you enjoy your time with us.
Cheers!

Family Farm in Oregon.
What does “Briar Common” mean? We grew up surrounded by berry farms outside of Portland, Oregon. Wild vines grew in huge brambles along the side of the road, pruned only by passing cars. The name represents our common connection to those briar patches we traversed together.
